Description Work with the Project Clean Slate Team We are in search of an attorney with criminal law experience. Project Clean Slate helps residents seek expungement of their criminal records to improve access to employment, housing, and educational opportunities. ? This role is responsible for handling various parts of the expungement process, including certified record review, preparing clients for hearings, drafting pleadings, supervising legal assistants, representing PCS clients at hearings, and providing support to the Lead Attorney. Examples of Duties Reviewing certified court records Draft pleadings Prepare clients for hearings Appear at expungement hearings Supporting the Lead Attorney Supervise and provide guidance to legal assistants Minimum Qualifications Juris Doctor degree State Bar of Michigan licensed Please attach a cover letter, resume with references, and a writing sample. Supplemental Information Skills & Abilities: Excellent organizational skills are necessary Must be able to multi-task Must be able to handle high volume Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to engage in respectful, appropriate communications with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences Willingness to meet with clients Willingness to be on site 4-5 days per week
