About This Position

Description We are looking for an accomplished Human Resources Director to guide people strategy for a large and multifaceted organization in Kansas City, Missouri. This leader will shape HR priorities that strengthen workforce planning, support business performance, and foster a productive, inclusive employee environment. The role partners closely with senior leadership to align talent initiatives, organizational development, and compliance practices with long-term operational goals. Responsibilities: • Lead the overall HR function by setting strategic direction across talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits, compliance, and organizational development. • Advise executive leaders on workforce planning, succession strategy, performance management, and sensitive employee matters that affect business operations. • Design and implement HR programs and policies that support organizational objectives while promoting consistency across multiple teams, locations, and employee populations. • Oversee investigations, labor-related matters, and complex employee relations issues with sound judgment, fairness, and adherence to legal and company standards. • Direct compensation and benefits strategies to help the organization remain competitive, equitable, and aligned with workforce needs. • Guide the use and improvement of HR systems, reporting, and administrative processes to enhance efficiency and decision-making. • Partner with business leaders to strengthen organizational effectiveness through talent development, culture initiatives, and change management efforts. • Ensure all HR practices comply with applicable employment laws, regulations, and internal governance requirements. Requirements An accredited bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, public administration, law, organizational development, industrial relations, or a closely related field, and at least nine years of progressively responsible professional experience in human resources, labor relations, employment law, organizational leadership, or a closely related area, including at least five years of senior management or executive leadership experience. • Extensive leadership experience in human resources, including responsibility for enterprise-level strategy and multi-functional HR operations. • Strong background in employee relations, HR administration, compensation and benefits, and regulatory compliance. • Demonstrated success advising senior executives on talent strategy, organizational planning, and complex workplace issues. • Knowledge of employment law, workplace investigations, and labor relations within a large or complex organizational setting. • Proven ability to build consistent HR practices across diverse business units, locations, or employee groups. • Experience developing programs that improve employee engagement, operational effectiveness, and overall workforce performance • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. SHRM-SCP, SPHR, IPMA-SCP, or comparable senior-level professional certification. Must be a resident of Kansas City, Missouri or willing to relocate to Kansas City, Missouri.
