AIRPORT OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR I

ABOUT THE ROLE Snohomish County Airport (Paine Field) is seeking an Operations Supervisor I to plan, schedule, and supervise employees supporting airport operational requirements mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Schedule, coordinate, and supervise daily Airfield activities, work priorities, and employee schedules. - Plan, monitor, and evaluate subordinate employees, providing leadership, coaching, and participation in personnel processes including hiring, evaluations, and training. - Develop, recommend, and implement Airport Operations Quality Assurance and security programs. - Coordinate with TSA, FAA, NTSB, and local law enforcement to ensure a secure environment and oversee investigations. - Act as Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) on a rotational basis. - Prepare work estimates, approve routine purchases, and assist with annual program budgets under the direction of the Superintendent of Operations. - Develop emergency response plans and manage snow removal events per FAA Part 139 requirements, including the "Snow Boss" function. - Supervise critical airport functions including noise abatement, airfield security, tenant hangar management, construction project management, and incident response. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in Airport or Business Administration plus five (5) years of Airport Operations experience, including a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge and abilities. - Must pass job-related tests. - Preferred: Prior Airport supervisory experience. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - Valid Washington State Driver's License required for employment. - Must obtain a concealed weapons permit within ninety (90) days of hire. - Must pass a fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and a Security Threat Assessment (STA) as required by TSA.
