ABOUT THE ROLE The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is seeking professional, dedicated individuals for a Courthouse Security Deputy position working 42 hours per week. This role is responsible for providing security in courtrooms and courthouse detention, ensuring overall security for the Courts Complex, and serving civil law process. Applicants without a Virginia basic jailer or law enforcement certification will be required to attend a basic academy and successfully complete the department's Courts Training Officer Program to obtain their Court Security/Civil Process certification. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide security in Courtrooms and Courthouse Detention facilities. - Maintain overall security for the Courts Complex. - Serve civil law process. - Attend a basic academy (if not currently certified) to obtain Court Security/Civil Process certification. - Successfully complete the department's Courts Training Officer Program. - Work assigned shifts to support 24-hour a day, 7 days a week community service. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Must be at least 21 years of age. - Must be a U.S. Citizen. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Must have a current valid driver's license. - Preferred qualifications include a college degree, prior law enforcement experience, and/or military experience. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be able to work any and all shifts as assigned, as the Sheriff's Office provides service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. - A relocation bonus is available for those residing more than 50 roadway miles from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Administration Building. - Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.
