About This Position
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is seeking an energetic and dynamic Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) for the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program. ACT is an evidence-based model supporting adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses or co-occurring substance use disorders. This role provides treatment interventions in non-clinic-based settings throughout Loudoun County, offering ongoing care to individuals who frequently experience episodes of homelessness, hospitalizations, and/or incarcerations in a person-centered and patient-driven manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Crisis intervention and assessment
- Treatment planning and care management
- Individual and group therapy
- Coordination of treatment services
- Compliance with federal, state, and agency policies and procedures
- Functioning as a member of a busy, mobile clinical team utilizing advanced clinical skills
- Transporting individuals in program vehicles
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree
- License eligible within one year of hire, or possess professional licensure through the VA Department of Health Professions Board as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP)
- Two years of professional experience working with individuals who have a mental health and/or substance use diagnosis (internship experience may be included)
- Preferred: Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to wear an N-95 mask and personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face shield, mask, apron, gown, and gloves
- Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment background check, including fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV, and TB test
- Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license in Virginia or a regional state of residence
