Family Engagement & Preservation Services Supervisor

ABOUT THE ROLE Loudoun County Department of Family Services seeks a dedicated and experienced professional to serve as a Family Engagement & Preservation Services Supervisor. The FEPS Program supports families experiencing crises and challenging youth behaviors through prevention, education, and case management services. Reporting to the Program Manager, this role provides operational and administrative oversight of the FEPS Unit, supervising Prevention Specialists and Youth and Family Support Services Specialists, coordinating intake services, and managing Client Emergency Needs funding requests to promote safety, well-being, and family preservation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Supervise, train, and evaluate staff in accordance with County and Department policies. - Establish performance expectations, provide feedback, and identify professional development needs. - Recruit, interview, hire, and train staff, and supervise interns. - Oversee intake, assessments, investigations, crisis intervention, eligibility determinations, case management, prevention, placement services, court actions, and service plans. - Provide direction and ensure timely responses to emergency, high-risk, and life-threatening situations. - Assist with cases as needed, including home visits, service coordination, placement arrangements, documentation, and emergency funding requests. - Carry a caseload when necessary to address safety concerns and reduce risk. - Ensure case records, reports, notifications, and database entries comply with federal, state, and local requirements. - Manage Client Emergency Needs funding requests, including Promoting Safe and Stable Families and community funds. - Initiate and participate in Family Partnership Meetings and address client concerns or complaints. - Develop partnerships with community organizations and represent the program on committees. - Research opportunities for program improvements and prepare related data, reports, and presentations. - Lead unit meetings and participate in departmental and divisional meetings. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree required. - Four (4) years of directly related experience in a human services area, including one (1) year of supervisory experience. - Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree with major coursework in a Human Services field, Master of Social Work (MSW), Child Welfare experience, and bilingual skills in Spanish and English. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment background checks, including criminal, credit, DMV, and CPS/APS checks. - Valid driver's license (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification). - Hold or obtain licensure in Social Work (LCSW or LSW). - Hold or obtain additional certifications preferred by the Department. - Complete required supervisory training.
