About This Position
ABOUT THE ROLE
The City of Cleveland Public Utilities - Water Department is seeking a Business Process Analyst to oversee business process and workflow analysis. This role manages process improvement activities that significantly impact cost, service, and forecast accuracy. The analyst will facilitate cross-functional collaboration, support standardization, assist in system deployments, and ensure that business and service requirements are fully defined, measured, and aligned with best management practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee business process and workflow analysis and manage process improvement activities.
- Manage the scope of improvements and resource requirements, escalating issues regarding service and timelines.
- Create performance metrics and facilitate ongoing performance review meetings with management teams.
- Support and advise on the standardization and streamlining of processes.
- Assist in the roll-out of key business initiatives by reviewing and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Identify issues or inconsistencies impacting service quality, recommend corrections, and manage solutions.
- Create and revise processes and associated documentation, including process flows, SIPOC models, RACIs, schematics, and templates.
- Assist in system deployment preparation, including change management, data preparation, and user training.
- Collect and analyze data to identify the root cause of problems and perform cost and benefit analyses.
- Deliver presentations and training courses on measurement, analysis, improvement, and control.
- Develop ad-hoc reports and analyses in response to business unit requests.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Business specializing in Operations Management, Business Administration, Quantitative Analysis, Finance, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Three years of full-time paid experience in business analytics, business requirements analysis and solution design, or business process analysis and redesign.
- Documented experience with project management methodologies, process improvement tools (such as Lean Six Sigma or statistics), business process mapping and charting software, and business requirements definition in support of IT initiatives.
- Substitution: One year of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for each year of college education lacking.
- Preferred: Experience utilizing an enterprise reporting tool, such as Business Objects or Cognos, to extract and analyze data.
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience leading complex SCADA and Oracle CC&B projects.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required.
