Early Voting Operations Coordinator

About This Position

About the Role The Maricopa County Recorder's Office is seeking an Early Voting Operations Coordinator to ensure seamless operations across the organization. This cross-functional role involves collaborating with multiple departments, coordinating incoming ballots and correspondence, supporting interdepartmental deliveries, and assisting with early voting divisional operations like signature verification and curing. Key Responsibilities - Manage the sorting and distribution of all incoming mail and ballots, creating a standardized and efficient process. - Securely assist in transporting ballots and other election materials in election vehicles. - Confirm and maintain delivery receipts of delivered mail for audit purposes. - Serve as a flexible resource, providing support to different departments based on workload and priorities. - Assist with administrative support, data entry, project coordination, and customer service. - Evaluate, recommend, and implement policies and processes relating to early voting logistics in compliance with state and federal laws. - Determine the department or recipient for intended mail when necessary. - Ensure health and safety practices are in place and maintain the work area to prevent accidents. Minimum Qualifications - Experience: Six months of clerical and/or customer service experience. - Education: High School diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Driving: One year of experience driving a 26-foot box truck with a lift gate. - Training: Must complete County Vehicle Operating Training. - License: Valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire. - Voting: Must be eligible to vote in Arizona. - Certification: Must successfully complete the next scheduled Secretary of State Election Officer Certification. - Skills: Ability to develop and implement continuous quality improvement strategies. Special Requirements - Preferred Experience: One year working in a distribution or mailroom setting; one year performing office, administrative, and clerical duties; one year of election experience. - Preferred Education: Associate's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. - Physical Demands: Lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, standing, sitting, using hand dexterity, vision, and mathematical reasoning. - Work Environment: Office environment and operating county vehicles to transport employees, materials, and supplies. - Adaptability: Must be adaptable, possess strong interpersonal skills, and learn new tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment.
