SALARY: The salary range for this position is $61,749.69 to $100,154.67 for Schedule A, and $61,749.69 to $95,146.95 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

The Mercer Vicinage is seeking a Human Resources professional who is motivated and committed to providing quality customer service. The successful candidate must posses strong problem-solving and communication skills. Under the general direction of the Human Resources Division Manager and the Assistant Human Resources Division Manager, the successful candidate will provide technical human resource advice and assistance to managers, supervisors, and employees in the areas of benefits; leave administration; the Family Medical Leave Act and the NJ Family Leave Act; Workers' Compensation; Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); recruitment and selection; classification; and compensation.
REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Leave Coordinator Duties:
Administer employee leave requests under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), New Jersey Family Leave Act (NJFLA), and other related leave programs.
Review and determine employee eligibility for leave based on applicable legal requirements, employer policy, and supporting documentation.
Provide employees with guidance and support regarding available leave options through phone, email, and in-person consultation
Track and manage continuous, intermittent, and reduced schedule leave to ensure accurate usage and timely processing.
Distribute required notices, forms, certifications, and written communications related to leave rights, responsibilities, and designation.
Review medical certifications and related documentation for completeness, sufficiency, and compliance with applicable regulations.
Communicate with employees regarding leave status, documentation deadlines, recertification requirements, benefits continuation, and return-to-work expectations.
Assist with coordinating Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requests with employees
Maintain accurate, confidential, and well-organized leave records in compliance with recordkeeping and privacy requirements.
Monitor leave balances, timelines, and expiration dates to ensure proper designation, follow-up, and case closure.
Prepare reports, tracking logs, summaries, and audit documentation related to leave activity, trends, and compliance metrics.
Additional Human Resources Duties:
Assist with recruitment for both classified and unclassified positions
Advise management on Human Resources issues
Coordinate or assist with workers’ compensation claims
Interpret Judiciary policies, regulations, laws, bargaining unit agreements, and the NJ Administrative Code and communicate this information to management and vicinage staff
Compile reports, maintain spreadsheets, and prepare correspondence for dissemination
Facilitate training sessions on Human Resources related topics
Process transactions in various Human Resources information systems
Participate in team meetings, special projects, and committees
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree
Experience: Three years of professional experience in payroll processing, benefits administration, salary administration, classification, labor/employee relations, training, selection/recruitment and/or Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate's degree and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. A master's degree may be substituted for one year of experience. A law degree may be substituted for two years of experience.

Supplemental Information
Driver's License: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
