About This Position

ABOUT THE ROLE This position is located at the Porter State Service Center's Public Health Clinic. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse provides comprehensive physical examinations, preventive health services, prescribes treatment, and orders lab work. Services include tuberculosis prevention, child and adult health, immunizations, and sexual and reproductive health. The role may also involve participating in community vaccination clinics, disaster response, and providing services at other county locations to support operational needs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Provides or evaluates direct nursing care. - Develops, implements, and reviews nursing care plans. - Provides health care instruction and guidance to individuals, families, community groups, and nursing home facilities. - Maintains effective working relationships with other members of the treatment team. - Prepares and submits records, reports, evaluations, and forms. - Participates in and makes recommendations regarding quality assurance activities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Possession of a Delaware Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license or temporary permit for a Delaware Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license in the specialty area of Family Nurse Practitioner. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - Possession of a valid driver's license that is not suspended, revoked, canceled, or disqualified from driving. - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; the State of Delaware participates in E-Verify. - The Department of Health and Social Services does not provide employment-based sponsorship. - Must commit to two consecutive years of employment to receive the recruitment incentive. - Must report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation on the first day of employment.
