VIOLENCE RESPONSE ANALYST (1823)

ABOUT THE ROLE The San Francisco Adult Probation Department seeks a Violence Response Analyst to support citywide violence prevention and response efforts. This role operates within the Prevention and Restoration Division and involves a collaborative effort between the Adult Probation Department, Department of Children, Youth and Their Families, and Department of Public Health. The analyst will support program operations, lead technical assistance and capacity building, assist with data analysis, and act as a liaison between community-based organizations and the Community Assessment and Services Center to connect individuals with vital services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Support planning, coordination, and evaluation of citywide violence prevention, intervention, and response strategies. - Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify violence trends, service gaps, and emerging needs. - Coordinate cross-departmental and community responses to violence incidents to ensure timely communication and service connections. - Develop strategies addressing violence across the continuum, including early prevention, crisis response, reentry, and restorative justice. - Build trusted relationships with community leaders, credible messengers, violence interrupters, and stakeholders. - Represent the Department at community meetings, public forums, and stakeholder convenings. - Provide technical assistance, training, and capacity-building support to community partners and contracted providers. - Prepare reports, presentations, and briefing materials for Department leadership and City partners. - Support contracts, grants, budgets, and administrative functions necessary to sustain violence-prevention initiatives. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three years of full-time equivalent professional-level analytical work experience. - Qualifying experience includes analysis, development, administration, and reporting in budgets, contracts, grants, policy, or related functional areas. - A graduate degree in relevant fields such as public administration, business law, public policy, or statistical analysis may substitute for one year of required experience. - Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include nights and some weekends. - Must be available for various shifts, such as 7am-4pm, 3pm-11pm, or On-Call 11pm-7am. - May be required to supervise a small staff performing moderately complex analytical work. - Desired competencies include knowledge of violence prevention, restorative justice, trauma-informed approaches, and the ability to build credibility with diverse communities and translate data into actionable strategies.
