Dr. Emilee Binette

Doctor of Nursing Practice

I am a doctoral-prepared Critical Care Nurse Practitioner providing management to critically ill adults in East Florida. I have always been fascinated by the holistic nature of human wellness and illness. Enthralled in the interconnectedness of the mind, body, spirit and community and the human response to stimulus big or small. My curiosity has driven me to seek deep understanding from that which is currently known, and to challenge the status quo or evolve knowledge when old answers do not satisfy the new or ongoing problems plaguing individuals, groups and systems. An RN since 2007 and APRN since 2013 I have found a niche and passion providing holistic, evidence- and best practice- informed care throughout the trajectory of acute/critical illness, collaborating with inter-professional teams, educating, developing therapeutic rapports to share decision making with families, and being a positive disruptor to improve care outcomes. I provide a safe and inspiring environment for patients, families, colleagues and systems to share their struggles and successes, promote innovation and empowerment, and provide opportunities for all to be seen, heard and pursue optimal health, in whatever form that needs to be. I am an expert in Adult Critical Care, and much of my scholarly work has focussed on end-of-life, including application of novel methods.
